Welcome to my counseling/psychotherapy practice.
Life is a journey that unfolds in developmental stages. We move from infancy to childhood, to adolescence, young adulthood, mid-life, older age, and finally to the end of life. Along the way, we will face various challenges, whether personal, relationship, career, family, parenting, trauma, health, or other kinds of life issues. We need a mental health professional on our health care team in order to attain and sustain emotional health as we face the stresses life brings. Some people have more serious psychological issues related to childhood or traumatic life events; others have more current concerns that need to be addressed and resolved. A counseling/psychotherapy experience with a therapist who is a good "fit" for you can make a significant difference in the outcome for whatever the challenge may be.
I incorporate a wide range of therapeutic modalities and treatment techniques and adapt my psychotherapeutic approach to the individual client's/couple's needs. I am able to offer short term solution-focused psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy to address more current concerns. I also offer long term insight-oriented psychotherapy to resolve deeper level issues.
I offer a warm, supportive, nonjudgmental approach to my work. I have an empathetic nature and my style tends to be interactive and authentic. I like to think of myself as a touchstone in the lives of those I have worked with over the years. It is not uncommon for someone to return intermittently (months or even years later) for assistance in resolving a new challenge they are facing. My office setting promotes a sense of comfort and privacy. I have over 50 years of experience as a professional clinical social worker, specializing in mental health. I consider the therapeutic experience mutually rewarding and would feel privileged to work with you.
